Associate Account Executive (B2B SaaS)

Location: Remote (U.S.-based, Central or Mountain time zone preferred)

About System Surveyor

System Surveyor is an Austin-based software company helping physical security, IT, and related professionals simplify site surveys, system design, and collaboration. Our cloud and mobile platform helps customers capture information in the field, build system layouts, and keep teams aligned.

About the Role

We’re looking for a curious, technically confident sales professional with experience in the physical security industry to join our growing team.

Discovery is at the center of this role. You’ll ask thoughtful questions, understand customers’ business and technical needs, and connect those needs to relevant product demonstrations and clear next steps.

As an Associate Account Executive, you’ll have a clear path to grow into an independent Account Executive role. You’ll start by qualifying inbound prospects, leading product demonstrations, identifying growth opportunities within existing accounts, and partnering with our Account Executives to move opportunities forward. With hands-on experience, coaching, and support from the team, you’ll build the product knowledge and sales skills to take increasing ownership of customer relationships and manage opportunities through the full sales cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Discovery and qualification: Understand customer workflows, challenges, priorities, and buying processes to identify opportunities where System Surveyor can deliver value.
  • Product demonstrations: Tailor demonstrations to customer needs and explain product capabilities, workflows, and integrations clearly.
  • Account expansion: Help existing customers identify additional teams, locations, and use cases that could benefit from System Surveyor.
  • Pipeline management: Keep opportunities moving through consistent follow-up, accurate CRM records, and clear coordination with the sales team.

What You’ll Do

  • Respond promptly to inbound leads and lead discovery conversations with prospective customers.
  • Ask meaningful follow-up questions to uncover business needs, technical requirements, decision criteria, stakeholders, and timelines.
  • Deliver relevant product demonstrations to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Answer product questions accurately and collaborate with internal experts when additional technical support is needed.
  • Partner with Account Executives on qualified opportunities, sharing clear discovery notes and recommended next steps.
  • Support account reviews, renewal preparation, and expansion conversations with existing customers.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects and customers, including those who are not immediately ready to buy.
  • Keep prospect, activity, and opportunity information current in the CRM.
  • Take increasing ownership of smaller sales opportunities as your knowledge and experience grow.
  • Contribute ideas to improve sales messaging, demonstrations, materials, and processes.

Who You Are

  • You have direct experience in physical security, security integration, low-voltage systems, access control, video surveillance, or a closely related industry.
  • You have experience in inside sales, business development, account management, or a closing role.
  • You’re skilled at discovery and consultative questioning, with the ability to uncover the real need behind an initial request.
  • You have experience leading customer-facing product demonstrations and can learn and explain technical products and workflows.
  • You communicate clearly, listen carefully, and adapt your approach to different audiences.
  • You’re proactive, accountable, and organized, with disciplined follow-up habits and experience using a CRM.
  • You work independently, take initiative, and collaborate well with a small, growing team.
  • You bring a positive, genuine attitude and care about delivering quality work and helping customers succeed.

Experience that’s a plus

  • Using or selling System Surveyor.
  • Selling software or SaaS solutions within the physical security industry.
  • Working with security system design, site surveys, or integrations.
  • Identifying expansion opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Managing opportunities through multiple sales stages or carrying a sales quota.
