Key Takeaways: System Surveyor Community Breakfast @ ISC West 2026

What We Heard at the Customer Breakfast: Real-World Impact of System Surveyor

At our recent customer breakfast at ISC West 2026, we had the chance to hear directly from integrators and corporate end users who are using System Surveyor every day – across everything from small projects to large, complex enterprise environments.

What stood out wasn’t theory. It was operational impact.

From faster turnaround times to eliminating duplicated effort, the conversation made one thing clear: teams aren’t just improving workflows. They’re fundamentally changing how they design, implement and manage the lifecycle of their physical security systems.

Here are the biggest themes that emerged.

Speed is Changing the Game

One of the most immediate and measurable impacts is how quickly teams can move from site walk to customer-ready concepts.

“We can go from site walk to sitting back down with the customer in about 24 hours with a working concept.”

That kind of turnaround used to depend heavily on CAD cycles and internal handoffs.

“What used to take a week waiting on CAD, we can now iterate with the customer almost immediately.”

The result? Faster proposals, quicker decisions, and a more responsive customer experience.

Designing With the Customer—Not For Them

Instead of presenting a finished design after the fact, teams are now collaborating with customers in real time.

“We’re designing with the customer in real time—not presenting something after the fact.”

During site walks, teams can capture details, place devices, and make adjustments on the fly.

“They’ll say, ‘move that camera over,’ and we can adjust it on the spot.”

This shift dramatically reduces misalignment and speeds up approvals.

Eliminating Rework Before It Starts

A common pain point across the industry is redesign.

“Before, whatever we designed first was never what the customer actually needed – we’d just redline and start over.”

By aligning earlier in the process, teams are avoiding that cycle entirely.

“Now we get alignment before it ever goes to final engineering.”

One Platform, One Source of Truth

Another major theme was consistency – something many teams have struggled with for years.

“We’ve tried for 20 years to create consistency—and we’ve never been able to do it until now.”

Instead of juggling multiple versions of drawings and documents, teams are working from a single, evolving system.

“It has to be a living, breathing map that everyone references.”

This becomes critical not just during design, but throughout the lifecycle—from estimating to installation to long-term support. Most integrators have customers for a long time, not just one project.  The ability to have a living, digital as-built that everyone can access at any time is a game changer.

Cutting Duplicate Work in Half

The traditional workflow often involves multiple teams recreating the same information in different formats.

That’s changing.

“This will reduce our estimating team’s workload by probably 50%.”

“We’re eliminating all the duplicated effort between sales, estimating, and project teams.”

By capturing data once and carrying it through, teams are freeing up time and reducing errors.

Connecting Design Directly to the Business

Integration with systems like Oracle NetSuite is taking things even further.

“When we place an element on the map, it’s already tied to our item master in NetSuite.”

“Now we can go from site walk to quote without re-entering anything.”

This isn’t just about design—it’s about connecting field activity directly to business operations.

Finally Driving Standardization Across Teams

Getting sales teams to consistently use the same tools has long been a challenge.

“Getting the sales team consistent has been a 20-year challenge—this is the first tool that’s actually worked.”

With the right system in place, consistency becomes enforceable.

“If it doesn’t come through this system, we don’t take it into estimating.”

Built for Every Project Type

Customers also highlighted the flexibility of using one platform across all types of work.

“We’re using it for everything—from small jobs with no floorplans to massive enterprise environments.”

A Platform That Evolves With Its Users

Long-time users emphasized the importance of responsiveness and continuous improvement.

“The features coming out aren’t fluff—they’re things users have actually asked for.”

“You can see the voice of the customer shaping the platform.”

Key Takeaways

  • Speed matters: Teams are reducing turnaround from days (or weeks) to hours.
  • Collaboration wins: Real-time design with customers leads to faster approvals and better outcomes.
  • Less rework: Early alignment eliminates costly redesign cycles.
  • One source of truth: A living system improves handoffs across sales, estimating, projects, and support.
  • Major efficiency gains: Estimating effort alone can be reduced by up to 50%.
  • Integration is critical: Connecting design directly to ERP systems eliminates duplicate data entry.
  • Standardization is achievable: With the right platform, consistency across teams is no longer optional—it’s built in.
  • Scales across projects: From small jobs to global enterprises, one platform with integration to other key business applications can do it all.
  • Customer-driven innovation: The platform continues to evolve based on real user needs.
