System Surveyor Garners IoT Integration Award for Camera Advisor™

Camera selection and system design platform wins in “Smart Building Controls” category

AUSTIN, Texas – Nov. 18, 2019 – For the second consecutive year, System Surveyor has won an IoT Integration Award from Emerald Expositions’ CE Pro, Commercial Integrator, and Security Sales & Integration media outlets. System Surveyor’s Camera Advisor™ achieved the accolade for helping system integrators choose precisely the right video surveillance camera for each customer’s requirements.

“Internet of Things has already become important in commercial spaces as customers increasingly have an expectation of intuitive design,” said Jonathan Blackwood, editor-in-chief of Commercial Integrator. “The products recognized in this space will help commercial integrators elevate their IoT offerings.”

A diverse panel of judges – industry editors as well as consultants and integrators in the IT, security, commercial A/V, and home automation fields – chose the winners based on innovation/technological advancement, ability to integrate with other products, value, end-user benefits, and integrator benefits.

Camera Advisor facilitates intelligent camera selection via a unique set of digital capabilities, including visual collaboration with a customer on site. With the mobile tablet application in hand, system integrators can show the customer the views of different IP camera resolutions and quality. This ensures that the video surveillance captured will meet the quality requirements for the application.

For example, System Surveyor allows a user to drag and drop a camera onto a digital floor plan or survey, adjust the area of coverage to a depth of 50 feet with a 20 degree horizontal field of view, and then visually select a target resolution level calculating the pixels per foot (ppf). Camera Advisor then determines the appropriate camera type to achieve the desired result.

“With Camera Advisor, system integrators can consult more effectively to establish the customer need first and choose the right camera quickly and accurately,” said Maureen Carlson, vice president of sales and marketing for System Surveyor. “They can avoid the costs of under- or over-specifying cameras and capitalize on what new, innovative cameras offer. The customers come away confident that they’ve chosen the right cameras and technology, which translates to higher sales conversion and longer term customer relationships for the integrator.”

Camera Advisor augments the System Surveyor intelligent system design platform, which enables integrators to gather all system requirements and IoT assets in a single place for design planning, deployment, and maintenance. See the platform in action at ISC East this week in New York City (System Surveyor Booth 1054).
